This morning my wife and I arrived at 4 am after booking through the OYO app, but the staff member wouldn’t even open the main door. He said there were no rooms with attached baths. I showed him the booking through the window, since he still wouldn’t open the door, and it clearly said the room had an attached bath, which is what people can expect OYO to offer. Then he started shouting, refused to give us a room, and used some bad words I don’t want to repeat. I waited until 6am and tried to contact OYO service, but got no help. It’s especially not a good place for women to stay because the hotel staff member behaved so badly.

I’d booked and paid through the OYO app, and my booking was confirmed, but when I arrived to check in at 12 today, the owner refused to give me a room unless I sent more money to his Google Pay account. Otherwise, he said he wouldn’t let me check in. It was really difficult to deal with having our accommodation cancelled mid-trip and finding a backup. These fraudulent people are making customers lose trust in OYO. NOTE: The owner has posted all the positive reviews shown here for this property. Don’t fall for this trap.

Don’t go here. I found a spy cam and there’s no safety or hygiene. The staff were the worst. I booked through Agoda, but they still asked me for extra money.

This was a terrible stay. We felt cheated by the hosts and the place, and by the end I felt trapped there. The map showed 2.5km from Kollam Junction, but when I asked the host for the full address, he didn’t send it. I called him three times while waiting outside the railway station with an auto driver. The location they eventually shared was actually 8km from the station. When I asked why they’d given the wrong location, the person said he was just the manager, not the host, even though the Airbnb page says “Host will greet you.” The room photos were nowhere close to the listing pictures. There were no proper lights and no water. They called it a homestay, but it wasn’t one. The place is listed under two names, Ayurmadam and Ss padmini Ayurmadam, and also appears on OYO. Although the page says the rooms are sanitized and clean, ours were dirty, with dusty windows and walls. The road was pitch dark in the evening, with no street lights or shops, so I couldn’t go out to buy water. I asked for a bottle, but the person said they didn’t have water and told me to buy it outside. When I asked for a partial refund because the place wasn’t as described on Airbnb, the manager said he couldn’t give refunds and told me to do whatever I could. We were already tired and had arrived around 1pm, so we couldn’t cancel and find another hotel so far away. One foreign family was staying there too, and they were also complaining. Airbnb should stop listing places like this, or it will spoil its name. I use Airbnb regularly and have had good experiences, but this place hurt my view of it. I ask Airbnb to delist this property.
