The rooms were spacious and very neat, and we had a comfortable, memorable stay at Jyotish. It's just 50 metres from the temple, and the in-house restaurant served delicious food. Both hotel and restaurant staff were courteous and helpful. Food and drinks were nice, and we felt completely safe. It was a pilgrimage trip. Nearby places include Mookambika temple, Udupi Sreekrishna Temple, Udupi Beach, Shankarapeeta, and Murudeshwar temple. Those places are very crowded, so take a taxi to get there. Highly recommended.

The complimentary buffet breakfast had lots of options, and the food was very good. Staff were courteous and helpful, and we had a pleasant one-night stay near Mookambika Temple in December 2025. We'd booked two regular rooms for six adults and one child, then were warmly welcomed and surprised with an upgrade to an Executive Room. It was spacious, clean, and well kept, with a kitchen, jacuzzi, and the basic amenities. A few things needed follow-up: we had to ask for the food coupons, Wi-Fi details, and TV setup. Extra tea bags and milk arrived late, the doorbell didn't work, and it wasn't clear while booking whether Wi-Fi was free or paid. Even so, we'd be happy to stay at Jyothis Residency again.

The front desk went out of its way to arrange someone to guide our wheelchair-bound family member to the temple and back. The staff were kind, courteous, and tried to meet reasonable requests, including each customer's particular needs. We were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to an executive room, which was clean and fully functional. The restaurant was clean and had decent ambience. We work in Karnataka but don't speak a word of Kannada, so we had to learn to speak Hindi. Their accommodating manner showed us that kindness can cross a language barrier. The stay was pleasant and satisfying. If it's Kollur, it's Jyothis!

We booked three rooms at Jyothi residency, Kollur, and the stay was very disappointing. One bathroom had a persistent sewage smell. When we reported it, they only sprayed air freshener instead of fixing the problem. Reception showed no concern or apology, and when I asked for the manager's name, he wouldn't share it. We were moved to another floor and asked several times for an extra cot. Each time they said it would come shortly, but it never did. The hygiene and service were poor, and the staff were unresponsive. This doesn't fit the 4.4 rating at all. I wouldn't recommend the property.

The atmosphere was peaceful, and we had a very pleasant stay. It was easy to visit the temple since the hotel is so close. The place was clean and comfortable, and the staff were polite and helpful. We'd definitely recommend it to people visiting Kollur. 🙏✨
