Surya Beach Resort

We had an amazing time at Sagara Beach Resort in Kovalam. The sea-facing room had stunning views, and everything was well maintained. The relaxing ambience and excellent food made our stay wonderful. I'd highly recommend it for a peaceful beachside getaway.

The breakfast was rich and filling, and the swimming pool was neat and clean. Staff were quite good, too. The rooms were okay, though I didn't like the interior, which felt kind of old. The location is amazing, with the beach and lighthouse just a 2-minute walk away. Overall, a good experience.

The beach access and views are the best parts of Sagara Beach Resort, Kovalam. It has private beach access, beautiful surroundings, and a large, scenic property, though the layout can make it confusing to find rooms or facilities. Staff were polite and helpful, and our clean, comfortable room was a little small for the price. Room cleaning wasn't done daily unless we asked, which disappointed me since I've found regular cleaning to be standard at other resorts. Food was the biggest letdown: the included breakfast fell short, dining needs improvement, and the dinner dishes had so much masala that it took away from the taste. It's a decent place if views and beach access matter most, but expect to compromise on food and some services.

We felt humiliated, unsafe, and badly mistreated, and I would never recommend this hotel. Our group of 10 members was staying there when one of our bags went missing. After we complained and said we suspected a staff member, they asked us to leave the room so they could search. They called us back and had us search our own bags again, though we'd already checked them. Then they somehow found the missing bag inside one of our suitcases and tried to blame us. It felt extremely suspicious, like a setup to cover up what staff had done. Throughout it all, the staff were incredibly rude and disrespectful. Ajay, the reception manager responsible for handling it, was unprofessional and dismissive and made everything worse. There are no CC tv cameras on the floor where our rooms were allocated. I believe Manager AJAY masterminded the incident. Be very careful with your belongings if you stay here.
