Gokulam Grand Turtle On The Beach

Our time at Gokulam Turtle Hotel was lovely, and we'd recommend it. The rooms were spacious, the balcony was beautiful, and the whole hotel was very clean. The food was also very good. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive and proactive. Special thanks to Vijay and the reception team, Pavithra and Tiny, for their kindness and support throughout our stay.

We spent four nights at Gokulam Grand Turtle On The Beach and came away with lovely memories. The balcony had a breathtaking sea view, and waking up to the sound of the waves was so relaxing. The location is right on the beach. Our room was spacious, neat and well kept, and the washroom was very clean and hygienic. Breakfast had a great variety and tasted amazing; the food overall was excellent. The pool was clean and well maintained. Staff were polite, courteous and always ready to help, making us feel welcome the whole time. It was a peaceful, comfortable stay, and I'd highly recommend the hotel for a beachside visit to Kerala. Thanks to the whole team for making it special! 🌴✨

The room view was absolutely insane, and the property itself was genuinely beautiful. The whole staff worked well together and were extremely helpful. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and the amenities were top-notch. We had four basic rooms, and they kindly upgraded two to suites. A very pleasant, comfortable stay, and I'd totally recommend it.

The location is very good, around a 10-minute walk to Kovalam Beach. But I left feeling almost cheated by the claim that this is a 5-star property and the 5-star price. For me, it's a decent 4-star hotel at most, and a long way from five-star quality. The nearby Taj and Leela Hotels have a fabulous atmosphere; I'd pay a bit more to stay there next time. I booked this one at the last minute because I couldn't find rooms at fathomable prices. This is a relatively small, very old resort that needs urgent refurbishment. It might have been good in its glory days, but now it feels worn out and crying for help. The tired lift, depressing hallways, and old, haggard gym all need attention. The Spa also felt far from the restful place it claims to be. Neither the gym nor the Spa seemed like five-star facilities. The pool is small but decent. I stayed in the Signature Suite. It was spacious with a lovely ocean view, but the furniture upholstery was stained and everything felt old, like it was from the 90s. The seating and bed were low, and the bed's broad wooden platform was very old-fashioned. It was hard to get out without hitting my leg, and easy to injure your legs walking around it without noticing. Parents should be careful with kids. The toilets had thankfully been refurbished, but the rest of the room needs major work. I also saw the Arabian Sea View Room and liked it much more, with higher seating and beds and better room aesthetics. The first breakfast put me off eating another meal at the hotel. The restaurant felt depressing and not up to five-star quality. I ate my other meals at the nearby Taj or Leela Hotels.
