Ayodhya Residency

We paid Rs 1500/- for a room for two, with no breakfast included. There’s a popular restaurant right across the street for meals. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom were as clean as they looked in the photos. The room had an air conditioner too. It’s a lovely place at a reasonable rate. I gave it four stars because the hot water took a very long time to come through. It was available eventually, and I still enjoyed my stay at The Ayodhya Residency 😀

The location is good, but the room was only average, and we found cockroaches in it. We were traveling for business and asked the receptionist for an invoice. They said they don’t provide one and told us to go to another hotel. Room service and reception were both very rude.

I spoke to the manager and settled the checkout issue. I told him I’d leave at 11 AM the next day after my 10 AM doctor’s appointment. The usual checkout time hadn’t been explained before I checked in. When I asked for another room the next morning, the Hindi speaking staff member was rude. He said I’d paid less, Rs 1200, even though the usual rent was 1500/- per night. I’d received the Rs 1200 rate because someone at my doctor’s office recommended the place. He also said I had to leave by 11 AM. I’d arrived at 9:30 pm, so that meant they wanted me out after about 13 hours, despite my payment. The room had a foul smell as soon as I walked in. It was raining and around 9:30 pm, so I decided to stay, thinking the air conditioning might help. Then I found the bathroom exhaust fan wasn’t working, which seemed to explain the smell. There was no hot water from the tap either.

The rooms were really neat, and the location is close to the beach with easy access. Check-in was smooth, and the service was excellent.
