Rococo Pelton

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we didn’t have to wait long for food. The seating was comfortable, with a nice coastal breeze. Prices are a bit high compared with local places, but the beachside setting, service, and lovely setup made the cost manageable for us. We ordered Chicken Chilli, Crispy Chicken, Fish and Chips, and Prawns Biryani. The starters were full of flavor, the fish was fresh and crispy, and the biryani was surprisingly good, with plenty of prawns and a delicious mix of spices. Rococo Pelton is close to the beach and makes a great setting for lunch or dinner. The open-air candlelight dinner by the shore was the highlight, with a romantic feel and unmatched ambiance. I’d recommend it to couples, families, or friends looking for a premium bar and restaurant with beach vibes.

The lovely beachfront location was the one bright spot during our lunch at Rococo Cafe on Palolem Beach. Service was very delayed, and waiting so long for our order took away from the meal. The Indian dish I ordered was below standard, with flavors that seemed off. I also took fried rice to go for the journey, and it tasted so bad it was almost inedible, making the long trip less pleasant. I can’t recommend this cafe for Indian food based on my visit. The kitchen quality and efficiency need significant improvement to match the setting.

The restaurant at this hotel made for a frustrating dining experience. Service was painfully slow, and basic requests were ignored despite repeated reminders. The waiters, particularly those from Nepal, came across as arrogant, careless, and uninterested in serving customers. Orders took far too long, and there was no sign of concern for guest satisfaction or effort to improve the experience. The lack of professionalism and training showed throughout, and management needs to address staff behavior and service quality. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’ve been coming from Varanasi for two weeks at a time, and after nine years as a guest, I still love Rococo. In my experience, Indians are treated just as well as foreigners. I’ve seen the staff be friendly to Indians countless times, so I believe the negative reviews are from competitors and claims of different treatment are fake. The place feels cozy and friendly, and the staff are always smiling and helpful. Suman is always around to help with anything. They care for animals, too, and there’s live music every Monday. The food is amazing, and they keep adding new things. Today, the tuna salad with avocado and quinoa was delicious. Suman is a religious, spiritual person, which adds to my affection for him. I highly recommend this hotel and cafe as the best on Palolem.
