I didn’t book a room, but I sat with my friend in the dark, dingy restaurant. It gave me the feeling that drug deals might be going on around us. He was given a 3/4th plate of complimentary peanuts, but didn’t eat them after spotting a small cockroach hiding in them. The service was just passable. It felt like staff were watching customers and waiting to fleece them by pouring less alcohol in each peg than the actual measure. That feeling of being fleeced hung over the whole place.

The rooms were neat and clean, with plenty of space, and there’s ample parking. The restaurant food was good, and the complimentary breakfast had a variety of tasty items. The friendly staff were very helpful, and the central location is convenient. From outside, the building looks good, but inside it feels old and in need of refurbishment. The lobby by the lifts, rooms, washrooms, and toilets all seem dated.

The bar is nicely designed, with low lighting, bar stools, and all the expected touches. Service was excellent. I’d stop by again for a drink if I’m in the area.

The buffet breakfast was nice, and the hotel has a basic gym that’s handy for travelers like me. Rooms are small, but comfortable, and the staff are courteous. Be careful about checking out early in the morning, though, as the counter may be handled by inexperienced staff.

A cold beer here is a good option, and drinks aren’t too expensive. They give complimentary Mumfuli, or peanuts, with drinks too. The bar is called Captions gateway or something like that. Overall, not a bad experience, but don’t order the Chinese dishes. They were pathetic, and it seemed like they didn’t know how to cook that kind of food. Better to choose something else.
