A budget-friendly, decent and safe place to freshen up before heading out to the temples. It’s right by Kumbakonam bus stand, so you can get an auto at the entrance; they have drivers they know who can take you on temple tours or around nearby areas to suit your plans. Taxis are available too, and Meenakshi bhavan inside the bus stand is a clean restaurant with good-quality food. The railway station is about a 10-minute auto ride away. Room service was good and the restroom was neat and clean. Since it’s next to the bus stand, people who want a quiet atmosphere may not be comfortable, though the noise wasn’t too disturbing at night. It’s affordable for solo travelers and families.

Getting around was easy from here, since the main bus stop is only a short walk away. The rooms and surrounding areas were clean and looked after, and the staff were polite and helpful. I had a good stay, especially if you want comfort with transport close by.

Over the past two days we’ve been visiting a lot of temples, and the trips have been comfortable and easy. The driver made a real difference: he was sincere, responsible, and humane, and explained everything clearly. We felt at ease throughout the journeys, and he was much better than other drivers we’ve had.

Friendly staff and a neat, clean room for the money. Hot water is available around the clock, as are check-in and check-out. It’s also very close to all the tourist places.
