We ate at the adjoining restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. It didn't look especially inviting from outside, so I might not have picked it on my own, but there was a good range of dishes. They brought us so many extras that we couldn't finish them all. Everything was freshly made and really tasty, though even the mild food had a little spice. The service was friendly and attentive, and we'd happily return. The hotel was clean and in good condition, with a welcoming lobby and friendly, attentive staff. The bed felt a bit firm, which is personal preference, and the older bathroom could use minor updates. A few more hooks or some storage would have helped. It worked well for an overnight stay. There wasn't a room available for drivers.

Big thanks to Sabin and Susmita for making us feel so well looked after. The room was spotless before check-in, and the bathroom was just as clean, with good toiletries. The modern room was kept in great shape and nicely arranged. Comfortable mattress and pillows, too, and the lighting made it feel warm and relaxing. It made the trip much more enjoyable.

Our stay was mostly fine, but the checkout left a very bad impression. A bedsheet had picked up colour from my mother's clothes, an accidental stain that can happen. Instead of raising it privately, staff brought the sheet downstairs and showed it to our driver while we were there. That was embarrassing and unnecessary. If there was a concern, it should have been handled respectfully with us in private. Showing it publicly reflected poorly on their hospitality, and the incident overshadowed our stay.

The room was clean and good, and we liked the food too. The location is fabulous, close to the market and Periyar Tiger Reserve. I booked just one day, but it turned out to be a really good experience.
