Sumitel Sonam Lachung

We stayed for 2 days, and the rooms were clean and carefully maintained. The staff were kind and friendly and looked after us well throughout. We’ve been to lots of hotels, but this one really stood out. One of the best kept places in Lachung, and highly recommended for a visit.

The food and the staff’s kindness were the best parts of our 2N stay at Sumitel Sonam Lachung. Our spacious room looked out toward the majestic snow-capped mountains, which was a lovely bonus. The staff were accommodating and made us comfortable. Just keep in mind this isn’t a 5 star hotel, so don’t expect a hairdryer or the super spacious washrooms found at other Yashshree properties. There’s no lift, so if mobility is an issue, ask for a lower floor. P

Our group of 19 stayed for two nights. There was some confusion before check-in, but the hotel manager, Mr. Birju, cleared it up and took good care of what we needed. The rooms were good, the location had mountain views, and the food was good too. The one issue was the high extra bed charge, which could have been included in the booking document.

The owner and her team were supportive whenever we spoke with them, and the dining area was lovely, with delicious food. The hotel is very clean, its rooms are well kept, and they take care of your requirements. We felt at home thanks to the warm hospitality. Recommended for anyone travelling to Lachung, North Sikkim, based on my real experience.
