Dekiling Leh

The chef deserves a shoutout for the home-style meals. We loved staying here: the rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were very friendly and proactive. Highly recommend, especially for the lovely hospitality.

The rooftop has an amazing view, so make sure to check it out. The hotel is right in central Leh, about a 15-minute drive from the airport and a 10-minute walk to Leh market, which is very convenient. Rooms are clean and equipped with hot water, heating, and all the necessary amenities. The staff are extremely friendly and enthusiastic. They also offer Ladakh land tours at reasonable prices.

The staff really focused on making our stay good. One person got locked out with the physical key still inside, and staff spent hours trying to fix it. They eventually drilled a hole in the door to unlock it. The key card system failed that day, though hopefully it’s been fixed by now. The room fixtures were oddly placed and askew. There’s no plug near the kettle, and anyone with OCD might find themselves muttering about things being crooked. The water pressure was great, and the hot water made up for the shower head spraying all over the bathroom. Parking is very limited, and the approach is through narrow streets. Like many hotel rooms in Ladakh, this one wasn’t designed for weather that isn’t cold yet. You may need to leave the window slightly open overnight to keep the air from getting stale.
