The room was much smaller and older than the photos suggested, and the price didn’t match the condition. Dust covered the doors, cupboards, tables, chairs, and side tables, as if nobody had cleaned in months. The bathroom was worse, with a dirty toilet seat, old gutka, pan, and tobacco packets left by the window, damp walls, and peeling plaster. There were mosquitoes everywhere, but staff didn’t spray even after I asked several times. They were unprofessional and unresponsive, and they did nothing about the noise and disturbances despite repeated complaints. When the power went out around midnight, it took a long time to come back. There weren’t even basic items like a kettle, tea or coffee, a bin, or toilet paper. I asked for toilet paper four or five times and was told it was out of stock. This was an extremely disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.

Hotel Shelter, Charbagh, Lucknow worked well for my stay. It’s close to Charbagh Railway Station, so getting around was convenient, and the food was tasty, hygienic, and good quality. The room was clean and comfortable, with working AC and the basic amenities available. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were polite and cooperative. Special thanks to Banquet Manager Mr. Aqeel Ahmad for his professional support and coordination. A comfortable, budget-friendly choice for travelers visiting Lucknow.

There’s plenty of parking, though getting into the lane is difficult. The service is satisfactory, but the rooms aren’t very good. I wouldn’t expect to enjoy a stay here, it’s more somewhere to sleep for the night if you don’t have a better option.
