By the second and third day, the quiet, dim corridors had given way to music in the common areas and lots of guests. We had booked Fortune Pandiyan, only to discover on arrival that the hotel's name had changed and it was now a 3 star rather than a 4 star property. The hotel has been taken over, though the staff are still the same. I imagine that change may not be pleasant for them, so please be patient and kind. They do their best to make guests feel at home. Velaiswamy and Ram handled our check-in and check-out exceptionally well, as did the rest of the staff. The food was delicious with a good selection. The pool is cared for, and there’s an aviary with budgies, a bee house, and yoga mats on offer. There’s plenty of room for development, and I really hope the place doesn't go downhill now that it will be a govt run hotel.

The restaurant was a real highlight, with a buffet that had something for every palate. I especially loved the Vada and Sambar at breakfast, and the chef was friendly and accommodating. He even went out of his way to make Jigarthanda for us. It was my first trip to India, and my friend booked us into the Fortune Pandiyan. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with such warmth that I felt like family. They were attentive and happy to chat about our sightseeing plans, and helped arrange things whenever we asked. Our room was always immaculate and felt very luxurious. I recommend the Fortune Pandiyan VERY HIGHLY and look forward to staying there again when I return to Madurai!

The breakfast had a decent spread, though the food was average in taste. Everything else worked well: service was top notch and the staff warm and friendly. There was ample parking, and the upscale interiors were matched by spacious, well-furnished, clean rooms. The washrooms were clean, and the linen and towels were spotless. Housekeeping kept us supplied with the toiletries we needed.

The food was great, and as Europeans we had been a little unsure what to expect, so the cuisine was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were comfortable, and the staff were incredibly courteous, friendly, and helpful. We spent 15 nights here for the Junior World Cup and couldn't have asked for better service. We felt very much at home. Many thanks to the whole team at Fortune Pandiyan!

We were travelling with our hockey team and had a great stay at the Fortune Pandiyan Hotel in Madurai. The staff were outstanding, always friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. Whenever we needed something, someone was right there, and we got what we asked for without hesitation. We were welcomed warmly and felt appreciated from arrival to departure. Our rooms were clean, comfortable, and well equipped for a relaxing stay. The food was fantastic, with lots of fresh, tasty choices, including traditional Indian dishes and international options that suited us as athletes. We're very grateful for the hospitality and excellent service. We'd gladly return and highly recommend the Padiyan Fortune Hotel. 5/5.
