Hotel Radhakrishna by OYO Rooms

The polite, helpful staff and the lift were useful, especially for people with luggage or elderly guests. But the room needs renovation, the furnishings are dated, and the bathroom was only okay and could be better maintained. The hotel's infrastructure, cleanliness, upkeep, and amenities all need improvement for the rates they charge. We paid around 3K to 4K for a three-bed room for one day, which felt expensive for the quality and poor value for money. OYO Hotel Radhakrishna is close to the Meenakshi Amman Temple, which is handy for pilgrims and other visitors. The street is crowded, though, and there aren't many good hotel options nearby. It seems the hotel relies on its temple location to draw guests and justify the price. The location works well for temple visits, but I'd look elsewhere unless needed. Upgraded rooms and facilities could make it a better choice.

The only good thing is the location, close to the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple. Everything else was awful. The building is old, with peeling damp walls and a musty smell. My room seemed not to have been cleaned for weeks, with insects in the bed, damp-smelling pillows, and mattresses that should have been replaced years ago. The AC was just decoration and didn't work. The TVs were broken, with no remote or signal. There wasn't even a dustbin, dental kit, or basic soap. It felt unsafe for women, like a place drunkards frequent, and the staff didn't seem to care. There's no basic hygiene or safety here. It felt like a place where dignity goes to die. You'd be better sleeping on a temple bench. If you don't care about women's safety, your health, or peace of mind, this could be your dream place. Otherwise, even a municipal dustbin would be cleaner and more peaceful. Well done, management, for running what feels like a rented trash bin. This was a very strong zero-star experience, but Google wouldn't allow zero, so here's the undeserved one star.

The bathroom water was so dirty it seemed like sewage. They should at least provide hygienic things, knowing pilgrims come here. The property isn't listed on OYO. We called OYO, they confirmed our booking and took 200 rs advance, but at the property they said only offline bookings apply. That's 1700 rs wasted. Is there an option for zero stars?

On 24 of December 2024, I booked a one-day stay through agoda.com. We drove 400 km, only to be told by the hotel management that no room was available and they had no tie-up with Agoda, OYO, or any other booking site. Yet the property appears on all those sites. I had planned my itinerary around the booking, and everything fell apart. Was this the booking site's fault or the property owners' sheer atrocity? Call the owners to double-check, or management may say they have no tie-up while you can still see photos of the place on multiple sites. As an ex-Brand Manager, I feel ethics are fundamental to doing business. What's the point of doing it without them? God bless the property owners and agoda.com. Sendhil
