OYO 16836 Royal Home Stay

Balaji at reception was welcoming and helpful. It’s a good spot for a one-day stop in Madurai, though a little far from the city. There’s no kitchen, but they can arrange outside food with limited choices. The TV in our room didn’t work.

After a tiring journey, it was really nice to get some proper rest here. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rates were comfortable and good value for money.

A manager and an older man were handling the rooms. The manager added 250 for cleaning on top of the bill, which felt like a scam. The room and bedsheets weren’t clean either. He said he’d return the change the next day because he didn’t have it, then disappeared. The management was the worst. If the owner sees this, the manager should be fired immediately.

This is a duplex house converted into rooms, with three downstairs and another three upstairs. Each room can sleep three people. The restrooms are average, and the beds are reasonably clean, but don’t expect too much. There’s one car spot inside and room for a couple of cars outside. The temple is about 6 Kms away, roughly a 20-minute trip. Major restaurants like Madurai bun parotta and koorai kadai are nearby.
