The staff were friendly, and thanks to GM Arul for coordinating with us. This is a large property with around 100 rooms, a clean private beach, and two pools, making it a good option for a decent budget stay with family and kids. It also has a simple vegetarian Vasant vihar hotel at the entrance, managed by them, plus a basic non-veg restaurant inside. Christian institutions often hold retreats here. The rooms are average but decent, and the 24-hour checkout is a great advantage. The simple breakfast is complimentary. Rates were nearly fixed, with extra tax: double rooms 3000/-, deluxe rooms 4000/-, and sea-view rooms near the water around 6000/-. It's fine for a budget stay, but not for a resort-style or luxurious visit.

The resort is some distance from the main city, so having your own vehicle helps if you want to explore nearby places. If your plan is to stay put and enjoy the shore, it's a peaceful place to relax. At Joe Beach Resort, Mahabalipuram, the backyard opens straight onto the beach, which feels almost private. A very good place to stay.

The food was excellent, and thanks to the chef for making such delicious meals. The staff were attentive, polite, and always helpful. The entrance and decorative showpieces also made a great first impression. Joe Beach Resort has lovely greenery and a calm atmosphere. The beach feels almost private, with a serene connection to nature. The location is great for a peaceful beach holiday, and we had a wonderful stay.

The setting and location earned the two stars. The staff were polite and good, but they didn't fix our problems. The AC wasn't working in the first room assigned to me, and the geyser didn't work in the other room. I booked at the last minute based on Google's 4.6 rating. Honestly, I don't understand how people rate this over 3. The rooms and quality feel stuck in the 90s, even in 2025. If you've stayed at other resorts, don't book this one or trust the Google rating. Standard rooms and the other options aren't worth the money. Most people who booked standard rooms online upgraded, so it feels like a kind of scam.

The food was delicious and one of the best parts of our stay, though the ice cream was the one exception. Pricing felt very reasonable for the service. Our favorite detail was the beautifully arranged private dinner beside the beach. We spent two nights and three days at Joe Beach Resort for a family get-together, and had a fantastic time. The service exceeded expectations. The rooms were spotless, well maintained, and close together. The pool was nearby, and parking beside the rooms was a big plus. We made wonderful memories and would recommend it for family gatherings or a relaxed, happy stay.
