Dhani had top-notch food with plenty of variety, and the cakes deserve a mention, they tasted heavenly. At the kids club, Ashwathy was cheerful and efficient, keeping the children engaged with care through arts and crafts, karaoke, mehendi, and more. Kaldan samudhra palace at a mahabalipuram feels truly luxurious, with warm hospitality from the moment you arrive. There was welcome music and a dance by traditional folk dancers, then we were shown to a palatial room with a wonderful pool view. It has the largest pool in tamilnadu. At night, the lighting is breathtaking.

Mr. Kadal Murugan and his team did a wonderful job with the food and arrangements, and everything on that side was perfect. This was my second event at Kaldan, which made the other part of the experience especially disappointing. I had a bad experience with the banquet team, particularly Ms. Rathika. She was rude and unprofessional with clients. At one point, she said my guests should “have eating sense” to keep the plate count down, which felt disrespectful and embarrassing in a hospitality setting. She seemed polite and cooperative during the early discussions, but her attitude changed significantly after the contract was signed. Even small requests seemed to bring a focus on money and favours, rather than service or client care. I sincerely ask Kaldan management to look into this and advise staff to treat guests with basic courtesy and humanity. One person's behavior affected my impression of an otherwise well-organized event.

The desserts were the most reliable part of the buffet. The pastry chef knows desserts, and many tasted as good as they looked, which is unusual at high-end hotels in India. Ashwathi was also outstanding and did my mendhi. The resort itself is beautiful and grand, but we wouldn't return. It wasn't good value for what we paid, since we could get much better service and an overall experience at other resorts or even on a cruise for the same price. I wouldn't recommend staying longer than one or two days. With prepaid half-board or full-board, the buffet is the only option and has little variety from day to day. Many activities that would be complimentary at similar resorts in other countries cost extra, and staff service was inconsistent. Some were excellent, while others seemed lost with ordinary requests, usually for food, water, or coffee.

The service was a real highlight, with polite, professional staff who were eager to help. Check-in and check-out went smoothly, and everything felt well coordinated. The food was also excellent, with plenty of variety and dishes to suit different preferences. Kaldan Samudhra Palace at ECR is a grand beachfront property, with palace-style architecture and a peaceful sea-facing setting. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and tastefully designed, with well-kept interiors, modern amenities, and lovely views in many rooms. Cleanliness and attention to detail impressed us. The pool was well maintained, the private beach access felt exclusive, and the landscaped grounds were lovely for relaxing or taking an evening walk. It also suits family gatherings, celebrations, and get-togethers. A great choice for a relaxing luxury stay.
