The rooms are clean, and the washrooms are kept in good condition. But the hotel is very remote from the main road, and autos or other public transport are harder to get than at other hotels. There’s also a water problem: almost all day there’s no water. They rely on the government pipeline, so once it runs out, guests have to wait until the next morning for the supply to return. Prices are higher than at other hotels too. I also observed what seemed like some unsocial activities being allowed here. Not recommended for families at all.

The hotel is basic, with no intercoms. Ground floor rooms are small, a bit damp, and full of mosquitoes. There is parking, but getting an SUV through the narrow lane to the hotel is difficult. The staff were the bright spot. Arvind and Appu did everything they could to make the stay pleasant.

A very cordial manager, and he was responsive and gave honest guidance that saved us from a lot of local autorikshawa overcharging. The rooms are spacious, and many important tourism places are an easy stroll away. The famous Shore Temple, Mahabalipuram’s main attraction, is within 500 metres.

We were two families, four adults and three toddlers, and booked two rooms through the OYO App. The app wouldn’t let us raise the guest count to four, so it defaulted to two. It was late at night and we were tired, but the lousy staff and OYO manager made us book another room for ₹1200. The greedy manager even asked us to pay for the child. The parking space is like a pigeon nest and fits only one car at a time, and the AC units in the rooms were leaking, as shown in the attached pictures. The road in front is very narrow. Complimentary breakfast and a bed for the child were booked, but staff resisted providing them. Don’t be lured by low prices and discounts on booking apps.

I booked after seeing the good reviews, but the room they had for my booking was tiny and dirty, bedsheet included, with a broken wall. They charged 1900 for it. The manager said there were no other rooms, so I had to take it or cancel. It was a horrible experience, and around 11 pm I had to find and book another room. Maybe you’ll have a different experience.
