We had an easy time getting around Mahe from Hotel French Avenue. The beach, central library, post office, and several places to eat are all walkable, and the hotel is beside the famous Maidan of Mahi. It felt safe and comfortable for women and children, and it’s about 1.5 km from Mahe Railway Station. Our train was delayed the next day, so the staff let us keep the room for another 3-4 hours when we asked. We really appreciated that. We’d arrived around 5:00 p.m., even though the standard check-in time is 12:00 noon, and check-in had still gone smoothly. There was no immediate rush, with the next check-in scheduled after 3:00 p.m. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were courteous and accommodating. The small restaurant kitchen only operates for events such as birthday parties, so there isn’t a full-time in-house kitchen. We ended up trying nearby restaurants at different price points and sampling Mahe’s local food, which was a nice part of the stay.

The price was very affordable, and the room had everything I wanted for a comfortable stay. I slept really well in the cozy bed with its soft linens and pillows. It was spacious, spotless, and nicely furnished, with a large window that brought in lots of daylight and had a stunning view. The bathroom felt luxurious, with quality toiletries, a strong shower, and a bathtub. There was also a smart TV and AC. The design was beautiful and modern, making the room feel stylish as well as comfortable. One of the best hotel rooms I’ve experienced.

I visited Hotel French Avenue last week. It’s a three-storey building without a lift. How is someone with a leg problem supposed to manage all those stairs?

The staff were caring and helpful, and the room was really neat and clean. I stayed for one night and two days and loved it. Definitely recommend!
