We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel every day during our four-night stay. There was a big selection of tasty food, especially the tandoori fish and tandoori pineapple. Satish, the manager, and Vishal, our favorite waiter, deserve a special mention. The staff were courteous and professional, with plenty of Punjabi charm. My wife and I stayed in the spacious, private Amrinder Singh suite, which had its own porch and comfortable plantation chairs. We enjoyed relaxing there in the afternoons with masala chai. The beautiful teak and rosewood furnishings gave the place a feeling of stepping back to the Maharaja era and the British Raj. Baradari Palace Hotel sits in the middle of Baradari Park, a green oasis in Patiala. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning.

The noise from the next room went on late into the night, and there seemed to be no sound insulation at all. We couldn’t rest properly. Our ground-floor room did have a small outdoor sitting space, which we liked at first, and the heritage property is certainly beautiful. But comfort was a problem. There was a lingering damp smell and signs of termite trouble, and the refrigerator smelled unpleasant too. The bathroom had no exhaust, so we had to open the large windows, which had no blinds and left privacy compromised. It was also missing basics like a wiper and a place to sit, inconvenient when I was travelling with my 60-year-old mother. For the tariff and expectations of a heritage property, this was disappointing. These issues had a real impact on our stay. I hope management takes the feedback constructively and considers a partial refund or other compensation, since the stay did not meet reasonable comfort standards.
A relaxing atmosphere for time with friends and family, plus great food and excellent service. One of Patiala’s best spots for a pleasant meal.
The chef was very humble and even showed me around the palace. I went for dinner and had a comforting soup, then dal makhani, malai kofta, and mixed vegetables. The dal was smoky and really good, and the malai kofta was among the best I’ve had in Patiala. The Indian food and hospitality were great. A must visit in Patiala for a good meal.
Those big, airy balconies overlooking the park around the palace were a lovely bonus, not something you find in many hotels. The central location in Patiala is handy for visitors, too. I spent several comfortable weeks in this unique historic hotel. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious. The chef was happy to accommodate my requests, and housekeeping was readily available with plenty of amenities.
