The food here makes IRCTC meals seem like fine dining. Parking is available, but it isn’t covered, much like the service. Unless you have a foreign passport, don’t expect a warm welcome, maybe just a polite shrug. Hotel Shahi Palace has little that feels “Shahi” about it. The staff seemed deeply unprofessional and confused, and even getting a towel could turn into an all-day wait. I booked two “suites,” a generous label for the rooms, with photos that felt like creative fiction. I asked for a comb, a basic bathroom item, and the manager told me, “foreigners don’t use combs, so we don’t provide them to Indians either.” So there was no such kit at all. The bathtubs didn’t work either. When I asked for a repair, the manager suggested using the bathtub in another room and then returning to mine. Asking for a garbage bag might send the staff into a philosophical debate about what it’s for. Stay here only if you enjoy irony with a side of incompetence.

The food was a serious problem. The tandoori snacks had little flavor and didn’t seem fresh, and the chicken tikka arrived completely undercooked. That’s unacceptable and unsafe, and it showed a lack of proper kitchen standards and care for guest safety. The stay was uncomfortable too. Our rooms were poorly maintained, missing essential amenities, and far less clean than expected. When we raised these problems, the staff showed no interest in helping or fixing them. The worst part was the staff’s rude, unprofessional behavior. They were dismissive and uncooperative, even in response to basic requests, making the atmosphere uncomfortable from the start. Hotel Shahi Palace failed on service, hospitality, food, and comfort. I strongly would not recommend it to anyone visiting Mandawa.

I found the food poor, with bland tandoori snacks and undercooked chicken tikka. The staff barely cooperated or showed interest in helping with simple needs, and did nothing to improve our uncomfortable stay. The room facilities were inadequate. I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Shahi Palace in Mandawa to anyone looking for good service, proper food standards, or a comfortable stay.

The people around the hotel, including the staff, made us uncomfortable. We were three girls, and someone knocked on our door around 1-2 am, trying to scare us. We were terrified. When we called reception in the middle of the night, nobody answered. The staff also made us uncomfortable when we repeatedly took photos and told us to go outside. We were paying over 4000 for the hotel, so why couldn’t we take photos there? Their behavior felt cheap and bad-mannered. At least the next morning, someone could have asked why we’d called at night and apologized for not answering, but nobody asked. When we called in the morning, they picked up after one ring, which makes it worse that they didn’t answer when we really needed them. It left our trip with sad moments. Apart from this, everything else was good, but the staff and people there didn’t make us feel comfortable.
