Hotel Grand Serenaa

The building looked patchy and dirty, with worn-out sofas that seemed decades old. Inside, the hotel felt more like a dormitory, and the upkeep wasn't worth what we paid. Our shower didn't work, there were no doormats, and the vegetarian food was a disaster in my opinion. The hotel's looks were a complete mess. Please don't spend money on this resort. We had no other choice because our trip to Pondicherry was decided at the last minute.

We were surprised after checking in, especially since I'd read the earlier review and hadn't expected much. The rooms were clean, and the property had a swimming pool, spa, gym, and all the amenities. Breakfast was the one real letdown. There wasn't much variety, some items had run out after the first round, and the food quality was an issue. We couldn't decide what to eat, and everyone in my family was upset about it. The rest was perfect. If we come back, please sort out the food.

The pool is lovely and sits in a nice spot. We had plenty of parking, and the people serving us were humble, honest, and polite, though I think they were short staffed. I had to ask several times in person and over the phone before the TV worked. Later, after I'd checked out, they found my lost key card and refunded the money I'd paid for it. Breakfast buffet was good, but a la carte and buffet meals are quite costly. Maple Rooms are average and a long way from the pool. If your budget allows, book a dafoddil room. Getting to Pondicherry Town means paying a toll of about ₹70 each way.

We recently held an esata get-together at Grand Serenaa for around 50+ people. Mr. Thirumurugan took especially good care of us during the party, and all the staff were very nice. We really enjoyed the swimming pool, and the restaurant has a nice ambience.
