Roshan Palace

The location was handy, close to both the main market and railway station, but the rest of our stay was poor. We booked three rooms, two downstairs and one upstairs. The ground-floor rooms looked dated; the first-floor one was newer, though it wasn't clean and its toilet flush didn't work properly. We weren't given basic things like soap or towels, and there was no heater or geyser. The owner brought hot water in buckets early in the morning and knocked to wake us for it. We also paid extra for the barbecue, but the owner kept coming over while we used it, which felt intrusive and took away our privacy as a group.

This place is overpriced and not suitable for families with babies. The room was dirty and in poor condition, the washroom key was broken, and proper facilities were missing. Owner Alam was rude and unhelpful. Hot water had been promised, but later he refused and argued about it. My wife felt very uncomfortable when his family kept watching her prepare food for our baby. They charged high prices while providing no service. Even a proper hotel would be much better. We had a very bad experience. Avoid it.

The food and room facilities were fantastic, and everything felt clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming too, and the amenities were top-notch. I loved the peaceful surroundings and all the greenery, which made it a great break from the city. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere felt positive and pleasant. Such a lovely place in Matheran for a relaxing stay! 💞🌸

The rooms are good, the service is very good too, and the rates are affordable.
