OYO 42790 Mukund Resort

I wouldn’t choose this place in winter. They had no kitchen, so although breakfast was listed in the booking, I didn’t know what they would serve and skipped it because we left early. They also asked us to pay the full amount on arrival and said they couldn’t wait until checkout. The location was the only good thing for me. It felt more like a banquet hall than a hotel or resort. For two people, the blanket was poor quality and too small, and the extra one we requested wasn’t enough to cover us both. Hot water depended on sharing one geyser between two bathrooms, so you had to hope you got access to the switch. Towels and soap were only provided when requested, and the soap was Lifebuoy, not an OYO product. After we asked several times for mosquito spray, they gave us All Out. Overall, a very bad experience.

This is a long-established venue near the highway in Mathura, used for weddings and other functions. It also works as a hotel, with comfortable, well-maintained rooms. Parking could be a problem when there’s a large gathering, and the restrooms could use some maintenance.

Mosquitoes were in the rooms; after we asked several times, they gave us All Out. The blanket was low quality and too small for two people, and not suitable for 12-degree weather. One geyser served two bathrooms, so getting a hot shower depended on the other room. Towels were only provided on request and were poor quality. There was no bath soap or shampoo, and when we asked, we got a ₹10 Lifebuoy soap. A very bad experience.

Mukund resort also rents space for weddings, but my experience with that was the worst. They insist you use their own catering and decoration vendors and won’t let you choose others. Those vendors charge much more than the prevailing market rate. If you pay per plate, they handle the whole program neatly and properly. Without that arrangement, they won’t help, and everyone blames someone else. Worst experience at Mukund resort.
