We arrived without a booking last week, and they got everything ready quickly. The landscaped grounds are well maintained, and there's a natural pond for fishing and swimming. Our room and washroom were clean, and the open space in the middle of the house adds charm. Food and boat rides were arranged on time at decent prices. We enjoyed our stay at Uncle Mathews house, a peaceful spot at Backwater villa in Nedumudiy.

The villa and its views are good, and the stay itself was fine. Mr. Antony, the caretaker, was very uncooperative and charged excessive rates for food, so it's better to bring food from outside. He also charged a service fee just to serve the food hot, even though that fee wasn't approved in the contract with BPCL.

Compared with other BPCL Holiday Home stays, this one wasn't pleasant. The TV and bathroom accessories didn't work, and there was no housekeeping when we stayed more than one day. The food was overpriced and not good quality. The caretaker wasn't at the house, while the owner stayed inside the villa and acted like the owner. There were lots of mosquitoes, and the bed is very small if you're bringing a baby.

The food was amazing, proper Alappuzha style, and Shikara boats and houseboats are easy to arrange from the villa. It's a peaceful place with a beautiful view, reachable by canal or road. There's a private pond behind the property, and the owner keeps the jackfruit, nutmeg, cashew, and other plantings very well maintained. Mosquitoes are a big problem because of the water. The Backwater Villa is in the Nedumudiy area and is currently under contract with M/s.BPCL.

The food was delicious and authentic Alapuzha style. The location is easy to reach, with the backwaters right in front, and houseboat and Shikara trips can be arranged by booking. An excellent holiday experience. The property is currently under contract with M/s. BPCL.
