Cabinstay Marol- The Hubz

The rooms are tiny, almost like airplane restrooms, but there’s just enough space for a suitcase and maybe even a pushup. Mine had two windows, and the switches were right by the headboard, which made sense for such a micro room. I like the cozy pod feel, and the hotel was newly renovated and cleaned several times a day. It’s a nice middle ground between a hostel and hotel, and probably the best budget option in the area for the price. The basics are done well: a clean place to stay and friendly service. My first impression, from check-in through checkout, was positive. I had some issues, but appreciated the owner and desk staff being patient and trying to find workarounds. That’s hospitality. I stayed almost 11 days, and the hotel is about eight minutes from the airport. I arrived after midnight and was glad a desk agent was there to check me in. Some hostels I’ve visited don’t have anyone on the desk at night, which is annoying. There seem to be only three or four employees, so you see the same people cleaning and handling check-ins. There’s a large opening at the top of each room, so noise and light can get in, though it was still pretty quiet. Lights from the cameras shine into the rooms at night, making it hard to get total darkness. I used a sleep mask. Depending on the room, the overhead cameras can also see the front part near the door, which made me feel watched and short on privacy. I wonder if the gaps could be closed or the cameras repositioned. The shower was my biggest problem. Hot water was available, but every morning I had to get dressed, go to the entrance to tell the desk agent, then return to shower. I’d appreciate a fix for a future visit. Toilet paper in the bathrooms would help too, as would a kitchen microwave. Something like a shawarma wrap can’t easily be reheated in a skillet, and someone on vacation probably doesn’t want to do that at 1 a.m. The area doesn’t have a large business like 7 Eleven, so late-night people like me have to take a rickshaw four minutes to 7 Eleven for anything after 11 p.m. There are lots of stray dogs around, including one that hangs out by the entrance. After a few days the resident dog got used to me and barked less or seemed less aggressive. Stray dogs can be unpredictable and dangerous, and even brushing against one could expose you to diseases like mange. This might scare some guests away.

The stay was really good. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff were very cooperative.

I was alone and new to the city, and I loved my stay here. The room is a bit small, but that was fine for one person. Cleanliness was top notch, the washroom was cleaned regularly, and the service was excellent. I’d recommend it 100% to women travelling solo.

A very comfortable, nice stay, and the prices are quite reasonable.
