Hotel Ashir Inn

I arrived at 3 am after my flight was delayed, and they refused to check me in, even though my booking confirmation said foreigners were welcome. I had let them know a couple of hours earlier. They left me out on the streets of Mumbai in the middle of the night. What a nightmare of a hotel.

I went ahead and stayed here despite the reviews. In my experience, the staff were really nice to me and the rooms were good. It’s affordable, though the rooms are a bit small.

Everyone books this hotel, and the staff are good quality and active about changing the bedsheets.

Calling this a hotel is a stretch, it’s a lodge at best. The rooms were smelly and dark, with no windows or natural light or airflow. Water leaked through the ceiling in three places, including above the bed. There were no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, and vents in the toilet doors let bathroom smells into the main rooms. It was a nightmarish experience.
