The location is excellent, just behind the Taj Hotel, and paid BMC parking is available about 200 metres away. It's a small, old hotel with around 20 rooms. Most have shared washrooms, five in total, but the rooms themselves are small, sufficient, and well maintained. Both the rooms and washrooms were clean. There's also a compact shared dining area where guests can make tea or coffee, with an electric kettle and microwave available.

The only catch is the shared bathrooms, though you don't have to wait for one. Rooms are good, and it's budget friendly. The hotel sits just behind the prime locations near the Gateway of India and Taj hotel, making South Mumbai's main spots easy to access.

I booked for private reasons, but it wasn't a good experience. I could hear noise from outside, and anyone outside could hear and see into my room. The building is very old, the rooms are really small, and there are only shared bathrooms, no attached ones. They charge a lot because of the Taj Mahal Palace and India gate nearby. Without those, it doesn't feel worth the price. Bad experience and a waste of money.

Breakfast had plenty of choices and was delicious, and the hotel's central location made nearby attractions easy to reach. My room was spacious, clean, and beautifully kept, with elegant decor and a calm feel. Staff were courteous and professional, room service was prompt, and housekeeping did a great job each day. I had a comfortable, luxurious stay at Hotel Carlton and would gladly return on my next trip. Highly recommend it.
