Hotel Columbus

Room service comes from the adjoining Radha Krishna veg restaurant. There's no non-veg, but they have good South and North Indian food, plus some surprisingly good sushis and salads. There's no kettle, so tea or coffee has to be ordered. The location is handy, in a decent area with lots of shops and restaurants. It's a short walk to the vile parle station, bus stops, and the metro. The front desk managers and housekeeping staff were attentive and quick to respond, and the rooms are well maintained. Good for solo business travellers and small families. I'll definitely visit again.

Everything felt smooth and easy during our stay. The rooms were comfortable and well kept, and the hotel's atmosphere was pleasant. Staff were warm and welcoming, and quick to help whenever we needed something. A very good experience, I'd recommend it to others. 💯

At 1.30 am, after we'd booked three rooms, the hotel asked the two family members from the USA to produce their OCI in physical form, even though we'd already sent a soft copy. They had said during booking that foreign guests needed passports and Indians could use any Indian ID. Some of us went to Goregaon to get the document, and we asked the staff to let the guests into the rooms while the hard copy was on its way. They refused and kept everyone waiting in the lobby despite many requests. The rooms were poorly maintained, with several electrical outlets not working. No water bottle was provided. The window AC was very noisy, and even without it there were other sounds in the room. A 3rd class hotel. You can get much better places for the price, with some humanity and common sense when dealing with guests.

I've gone back and forth for weeks about writing this, but the manager's treatment of guests needs to be said. The staff attitude is unacceptable, and the manager treats people so badly that an okay hotel feels like the worst place on earth. This behavior is why I don't think the hotel deserves even one star. I truly believe karma will catch up with this manager one day, and he'll pay for how he treats people. Save your money and go somewhere guests are respected. Wish I could give 0 stars.
