Hotel BKC Inn - Near Trade Center, Visa Consulate

The room smelled, the toilet seat was broken, and the area outside was dirty. The food was poor, they didn’t even provide a spoon, and the water bottle was very low quality. There wasn’t a toothbrush either. When I asked for a bill, the desk staff didn’t know how to print one, and I waited 15 minutes without getting it. I only stayed because I’d booked through Goibibo and needed to get to the US consulate on a rainy day. A total waste of money. I’d never go back, and I don’t know why Goibibo still lists it.

The rooms weren’t clean, and the online photos don’t match what you find there. The surroundings are extremely dirty, and “security” people wander around the building, seemingly just to ask for money when you leave. Stay away. Spend a little more and stay closer to the consulate.

The staff were helpful and gave me information, but the hotel itself was a terrible experience. It’s in a slum area that felt dangerous to walk around at night, and it’s nowhere near a 3-star hotel. The borewell water was salty, so I couldn’t bathe with it, and it caused skin irritation and other skin problems. There was no toilet paper, and the jet spray and shower head had dirty white marks.

There wasn’t anywhere to park, and I couldn’t leave my car there or risk putting my family in danger. We reached around 11 pm, and I’d booked the place because it was cheap without checking the details. I’m new to Mumbai and hadn’t known what the neighborhood was like. It was a slum area with garbage and hundreds of parked cars. Groups of drunk people were hanging around them, and some cars had no wheels. At 11 pm, we watched one group take a battery out of a Skoda, clearly not for maintenance. I ended up driving around at midnight looking for a decent hotel and settled on ibis. It cost 10k, but we were safe. The night became a nightmare.
