Dreamland Hotel

We were only there because we were stuck in an urgent situation and had no other option at the time. The receptionist, an older man, recognized that we were from South India and treated us with complete disrespect. He was incredibly rude and arrogant, refused to let my sister enter the room, and used abusive and rubbish language in Hindi toward her. It was unacceptable behavior, and the place felt unsafe. Respectful travelers should avoid it. The room was nothing like the pictures online. The bathroom was uncleaned, the bedroom walls were broken and unfinished, and the table stand was broken. A curtain covered the window, hiding piles of dust and hair. Booking through Ixigo was an absolutely terrible experience. Worst room, never go if you are from South India.

The rooms are old and poorly maintained, with an old-fashioned style. The location is the main advantage for the Tata Mumbai Marathon. It's close enough to CSMT railway station to walk, so on race day the venue can be reached smoothly in about 10 minutes.

On my Mumbai visit on 24 January 2026, I was looking for a good family hotel, but OYO's application showed me this awful place. I paid part of the cost while booking, then called the hotel and was told there was no room available. After a long conversation with the OYO team, they tried to get me a room by giving the hotel Rs 300. I waited three hours at check-in for the room to be ready. The photos had promised a “Dreamland,” but instead there was a dim, dusty hallway and a smell like a basement that hadn't been opened in a decade. I felt a lump in my throat when I realized this was where I would be staying. There was no water in the room, the place smelled everywhere, and the bed was damaged. The curtains were torn and the light flickered so badly it gave me a headache. When I tried to sit down, the bed springs made a loud metallic groan, much like my spirit at that moment. The sheets were a shade of “vintage grey,” and the traces left by previous occupants made me feel like I wasn't alone in my misery. Please don't book this hotel. It's my request. Owner, please improve the service and quality, and train your staff too.

The room was so small and dirty, just two dim lights, and unhygienic. The balcony door seemed like the only thing that could brighten it, but the balcony hadn't been cleaned in years and was covered in dust. The AC seemed two decades old and was broken. I regretted checking in and didn't feel like staying there. I arrived around 8 am on 13/11/25. They first asked for ₹1500, then said I had to pay ₹300 more because I checked in early. I paid and asked for a bill, but they said they'd give it later. I went down to speak to the manager and asked to leave and get my money back. He said they couldn't refund the amount because I'd sent it over Paytm, and that the owner was out of station. After a heated argument with the staff, I went to the neighboring hotel. Its owner was very generous, the rooms were clean and hygienic, and the staff were helpful. The Hotel O' Dreamland owner should know that the staff didn't refund my ₹1500. I'll never recommend this hotel to anyone, especially solo travelers or working people coming to Mumbai. Don't book here.
