Hotel Preston

After a 24-hour flight, I arrived with my husband and toddler expecting the room to be treated for mosquitoes, as I'd asked in advance and reminded them by phone 15 minutes before we got there. They ignored it, and my child was bitten all over. At 2 a.m. they kept us waiting at the desk for an Aadhaar card even though we'd shown our passports. Then they demanded 2000 rupees for our prepaid online booking. I showed the confirmation and receipt, and they finally let us in at 2:30 a.m. I tried to sleep, but at 4 a.m. someone knocked and told us to come to reception. They said the online payment hadn't appeared and kept harassing us about it. The sheets were clearly used, stained, smelly, and covered in hair. The toilet seat was wet, and when I asked for toilet paper, they said they had none left in a way that felt like a threat. There was smoke all over the lobby at 6 a.m. I took my child and left at 7 a.m. in pouring rain because I just wanted to get out. Worst hotel I've stayed in. Don't book here, and don't trust the photos.

The rooms are in terrible shape because they haven't been maintained, with bathroom leaks and poor cleaning, just like the photos show. The location might be good, but I wouldn't recommend this place for families.

No tissue or hot water was provided, and the rooms weren't properly cleaned. There were mosquitoes everywhere, and I only got repellent after asking. The very local-feeling area seemed unhygienic, with lots of smokers and drinkers around, and it felt unsafe for women. I won't come back or recommend it. Terrible stay! 😡

I booked through MakeMyTrip, then called to get verbal confirmation. They were rude and didn't know how to treat a customer. Earlier that morning I'd called about the same booking. They said they were checking, then hung up. I waited 15 minutes for a callback, but nobody called, so I tried again. Someone immediately shouted, “Told you we're working on something else, we'll call you after 10-15 minutes.” I explained that they'd said they were checking my booking, not that they were busy with something else. I apologized in case I'd interrupted their work, and they hung up again. Four hours passed with no callback, so I called once more. One of them yelled and asked which app I'd booked through. I said MMT. He couldn't see the booking, rudely asked me to send a screenshot, then disconnected. After that call, I went into the MMT app and cancelled the booking.
