Hotel Surya Prakash

I've used this Kankan property for my guests for over 30 years, and the location is excellent. The whole place is exceptionally clean, and the service is usually excellent too. I'd give it five stars, but this visit left me disappointed. My 83 year old aunt and family had two rooms. We knew the checkout time, but one person was seriously ill, so we asked for a couple more hours in one room. The duty manager refused even though nobody was waiting to check in. When I asked him to find out when the next guests were expected, he said it wasn't his job and just cited the rules. That didn't fit with the owners' values as I know them. I decided to move them to my house. Only then did they say we could keep the room for two more hours, but by that point it was too late. The manager was polite, but his approach was unacceptable.

I stayed one night, and the room was clean and comfortable. After I checked out, the staff found the keys I'd forgotten and called me. Since I was nearby, they even came over to return them. The staff were very helpful, and the service was good.

The rooms are spacious and kept neat and clean. The staff are friendly and cooperative, and the service is excellent. Highly recommend.

A cozy, practical place with no frills and an upmarket feel, at a convenient price.
