Ambady Estate

The food was delicious, freshly made to order. Staff were friendly and helpful, many of them from Assam, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. Ambady Estate is a delightful place in the hills outside Munnar, set on its own Cardamom plantation. Highly recommended!

The staff were always attentive and available, and the restaurant served us delicious food at night and for lunch. We had a peaceful stay in a beautiful, quiet place among the forest, flowers and cardamome fields. The swimming pool is surrounded by trees and lovely scenery. If you want a restful break, this is the place. Many thanks.

We had a great family break surrounded by nature. The 120 acre cardamom estate is quiet and well away from the crowded town, a birdwatcher's paradise with friendly, gracious staff. Mr Shyam, the on-site manager, was easy to reach and explained how cardamom is dried with real interest. The food was tasty, though the choices were limited. Our villa was very comfortable, with fast Wi-Fi and enough amenities. The estate is good for trekking, though there are leeches to watch for and older visitors might find it daunting. It's quite far from town, so allow time to reach the usual sights and set out early. An SUV is preferable because the road from the main highway is steep and rocky. It's rustic, but a hatchback or sedan will bottom out. We had a really great stay at Ambady estate, and give it 4.5/5.

The staff were the highlight for me. They did everything they could to make me comfortable, and the service was impeccable. I stayed in a lovely cottage, not a standard hotel room, with beautiful rooms and great food. The lodge sits in the mountains on a cardamom farm, and you can take a tour there. Such a little bit of paradise. I hope I get to return one day. A marvelous experience!
