We had a nice experience during our two-day stay, and I'd recommend the property to others. Reception manager prakash was always smiling and ready to help.
We booked two rooms for two nights, and there were a lot of problems. The road to the hotel was in very bad shape, with a speed of more than 10 km/h hard to manage. In the four-story building, the place didn't feel like a resort. Neither room had a working TV: one had no television at all, and the other one didn't work. We complained, but no one listened. The receptionist wasn't helpful, and there was no hot water, even though it was around 2 degrees Celsius. They wouldn't even give us hot drinking water, and he ignored the request. I also asked for WiFi repeatedly, but was ignored each time, and it wasn't working anyway. Breakfast was limited and average. He asked to use my phone to check some booking detail in the app, then rated the hotel 5 stars on my behalf, which it absolutely wasn't worth. There's no mobile signal for any carrier except BSNL.
The only downside is that there's no mobile signal around the resort, though that's not the resort's fault. They do offer WiFi. The rooms are comfortable enough, and having a campfire with friends was fun.
The staff and managers were very kind and quick, and the hotel was well maintained, though some things need improvement. Breakfast was excellent and tasted good, and dinner was good and hygienic. The room walls weren't very clean, and there was no intercom. For anything like water or checking whether breakfast or dinner was available, we had to go down three floors. There's no mobile signal except BSNL. The resort is 7 km from Munnar Junction, and road work is going on, so driving at night needs care.
The staff were very friendly, listened to our complaints, and tried to sort things out. They even warmed milk for us. Still, after paying premium rates, I expected at least an above-average room, and this one didn't come close. The road to the hotel was dangerous, with lots of repairs underway, making night driving difficult, though that's not really the hotel's fault. The listing said there was an in-house restaurant, but when we arrived around 3 pm, we were told it was closed for renovation, and there weren't any decent places to eat nearby. The room looked shabby and had drainage problems in the bathroom, so they moved us to another one after we complained. That room had a TV that didn't work either. Staff tried to fix it, but it stayed broken, and a new set-top box wasn't brought until the next day. Hot water was very mediocre and wasn't enough for the cold. The complimentary breakfast had no salt in any of the dishes. Parking was also insufficient, so vehicles were parked double and triple deep. When we needed to leave, we had to wait for a double-parked car to move, but staff didn't know whose it was.
