Elakai Munnar

The beautiful design and furnishing, along with the astonishing views across the valley to the hills, made this the most amazing property we’ve stayed in. The housekeeping team were attentive, and the chef prepared delicious meals. Breakfast and dinner were both superb. I’d suggest staying at least 3 nights. We planned the rest of our holiday around the availability of Elakai. What a beautiful place.

A lovely setting a short drive outside Munnar, with a spacious two bedroom villa that was amazing. Sajeev seemed to anticipate whatever we needed, and Dinto made each meal to our wishes. Give yourself enough time to enjoy how restful the surroundings are.

We had a delightful stay from the 2oth to the 23rd of Jan. 2023 and would love to return. The large balcony was a wonderful place to watch the birds and take in the view, with no car horns or road traffic to disturb us. The rooms were very well designed, and the bathroom was huge. The property sits on a cardamom plantation, with flowering shrubs at the entrance, and has a lovely view of the Periyar river and surrounding hills. It was completely tranquil. Manager Anoop and chef Dinto made us feel very welcome, and the food and service were excellent.

Anoop took us on a few walks during our stay, through the cardamom plantation to a nearby tea plantation, dam, and forest. He patiently answered all our questions and was always glad to help with small requests. When we weren’t out sightseeing, we spent time enjoying Dinto’s delicious cooking. The villa is less than an hour’s drive from Munnar, set among cardamom plants. Anoop, the manager, welcomed us warmly and showed us the beautiful grounds and gorgeous view. There are two spacious bedrooms with bathrooms and a giant living room, which was perfect for our group of six. Ahmed kept everything nice and clean. It was a great place to unwind on the deck or challenge yourself with hikes and exploring the area.
