We were a group of nine and stayed for two days in a room with four cots that could hold eight people. There were two toilets and a bathroom. The bed smelled a bit. At 3500 per night, I think it was a pretty good deal in Munnar, especially if Zostel isn’t available or a gang would rather not stay at Zostel.

The rooms looked nothing like the photos we were given when booking. They smelled like they hadn’t been cleaned for months, and the food was terrible. The whole stay was pathetic. I wouldn’t recommend anyone stay at Munnar Dream Palace. I’m giving one star only because the site won’t let me post without it.

The first thing we saw after a long journey was hair all over the floor. There was hair on the bathroom mat, and when we opened the blanket, it was full of hair too. It was awful. The service wasn’t satisfactory either. Instead of replacing the blanket, they gave us a bedsheet and told us to put the blanket over it to sleep. Pathetic, and not recommended at all.

The caretaker was very rude, and the rooms were full of mosquitoes. They provided no towels or toiletries like shampoo and soap, and wouldn’t even let us leave our luggage for a while. Hot water wasn’t available in all rooms, and when we asked, nobody helped. They charged Rs. 1000 for a bonfire they couldn’t even light. Service was poor throughout. Worst of all, they didn’t give us a room key. When we asked, the caretaker said a guest had taken the keys away. Not recommended for individuals, families, or groups.

I was charged 1000 rupees on a Wednesday during the non-peak period, and got a nasty room with no safety. They promised hot water in the morning, but I wasn’t satisfied with what was provided. The worst experience of my life.
