OYO 77946 Skylark

The place was a bad experience during our Kerala tour, and its location was the worst part. The road there is dangerous, and if something goes wrong, you could damage your vehicle. The rooms are small, with no fan or AC. The owner was rude, and because I'd mistakenly booked for one guest, they charged almost 50% extra for the additional guest. They also didn't provide a towel or soap, despite what earlier ratings said. A total waste of money. I'd suggest avoiding a booking here through the OYO app as well.

The worst part came after the drive. The rude lady owner said she wouldn't honor app bookings made with an offer, since she could get better money from walk-ins, and demanded another 1000rs for the room. She told us to cancel through the app and find somewhere else, insulting us with bad words. I drove 300km to Munnar with my wife, exhausted and hoping to rest at the hotel I'd booked. The road from Munnar was under construction, and the house sits in a pit among lots of sheds that looked like a slum. The photos showed a neat house in the forest, so I felt they were old or photoshopped. There was a 60° slope down into the pit, which I managed with my off-roading skills. I later saw many negative Google reviews describing similar cases. OYO customer care said the complaint needed escalation and might take 30 to 60 minutes. An hour later, they called back and said the owner wasn't answering OYO's calls, and the only option was to cancel my booking. I had to find another room, and it completely ruined our vacation. Shame on OYO for keeping a contract with people who damage its brand. This shouldn't happen to anyone else.

It was humiliating. I went with my family, but the owner shouted at us, showed no respect, and wouldn't cooperate. There was no network or WiFi, and it was raining. He told us to contact OYO, then locked all the rooms. I didn't stay and never got a refund, so it was a waste of money. I had accidentally booked for one guest, and he refused check-in, threw our bags and slippers out, and locked the room. I also had a booking for three guests, with only a 50 r difference between the one-guest and three-guest rates. Still, he insisted we book two rooms or he wouldn't let us in. I'd never had this kind of problem with OYO before.

We had a nice stay with our group, and there didn't seem to be any restrictions. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, with hot water available. It's in Devikulam village, though there are no hotels or shops nearby, and the property doesn't have proper parking. Overall, a pleasant experience.
