We’ve had a magical stay here twice, and the night sky from the terrace after a beach sunset is something special. The beach is about a 20-minute walk away. For a city family like ours from busy Mumbai, it’s a lovely chance to be close to nature. I was comfortable here even with my three-year-old, who had clean home-cooked food, along with fresh vegetables and fruit from the garden. The helpful couples who look after the property for the owners can pick up what you need from the market, about a 15-minute bike ride away. Rooms are cozy, surrounded by mango trees in the lush forest. After a warm afternoon, there’s a cool blue pool, a place to sunbathe, and a shady mango tree to rest under. It’s a quick break from city life, about a two-hour drive from the jetty. Hope you get to enjoy it too 😁

We’ve returned to Saffron Stays Sunglade several times for a few restful, rejuvenating days, and it’s become one of our favorites. The many terraces have spectacular views. Mornings were for coffee in the lush gardens, while we watched panoramic sunsets with cocktails each evening. The local food was wholesome and so tasty. Rooms are airy, spacious, clean, and artistically decorated. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, I wanted to take the mattress home! We’ll be back soon.

The view is lovely, and the property itself is beautiful, but we had an extremely unpleasant stay, especially for the children and senior citizens with us. The rules meant staff wouldn’t let us use the kitchen even for basic things like making tea, or use glass cups to pour water. They weren’t cooperative, though I understand these rules weren’t their fault. The pool didn’t really feel like a pool, and a broken tile there injured my niece. Even after several reminders, nobody came to clean either the bedroom or sitting room. There was a large hole in one of the master bedrooms, and a chameleon came in through it. We paid a lot and left with a terrible experience. It wasn’t worth the money, regardless of the view. Please don’t waste yours on such poor service.

The local Maharashtrian meals were a highlight, from fresh, hot bhakri to coconut beans and vaal stew. Ranjana and Naresh were attentive, welcoming caretakers and the service was top-notch. The view over the lush tropical coast was breathtaking. I had a wonderful, memorable stay at this homestay in Nandgaon and highly recommend it.

The property is so green and peaceful, with close to 100 trees and a breathtaking ocean view. The nights are quiet, with a majestic starry sky. It’s a child-friendly place and would suit couples or families. Ranjana and Naresh gave us great hospitality and service, and the homemade food was lovely. An awesome hidden gem and a memorable holiday. Highly recommended!
