Dhenu Atithya

The place is tucked away in a good location, with plenty of parking. The rooms and service were good too, and there was a restaurant in the hotel. I was let down by the hot water, though. They said it would be available from 6:00 am to 8:01 am, but it stopped about half an hour early. They offered to bring an immersion rod, but it never made it to our room. It might suit someone staying just one night near the temple. I expected a nice hotel, and it was in some ways, but I still left disappointed 😔

We paid an advance to confirm two rooms at Rs. 2500 each, but the rooms were nothing like the photos, and the actual price differed from what was shown online. They smelled strongly of urine and were badly messed up. One bed had blood stains, the pillows had saliva stains and hair, the beds were full of bugs, and the bathrooms were moldy. It looked as if the bedding hadn't been changed. The floors hadn't been swept and still had beach sand on them. There were no water bottles, kettle, towels, or soap. The room boys didn't respond when we rang the bell. When we complained, they wouldn't accept the problems and were very rude. This was the worst stay at a lodge. I can't call it a hotel.

The parking was the only good part. The fan barely worked, there were cockroaches in the bathroom, and the bedsheets and pillow cover were dirty and unwashed. There wasn't even soap or handwash, and the room door was nearly torn on the inside. For this price, you can get much better rooms. One of my worst stays, and the room quality was poor.

Murdeshwar Temple and Murudeshwar Beach are both within walking distance, so getting out to see them was easy. The price felt very fair for the clean, comfortable rooms and hygienic washrooms. The property is small and a bit older than some newer hotels nearby, but it's well maintained. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was parking too. The restaurant on the first floor served decent, satisfying food for a simple meal after a long day. I found Hotel Dhenu Atithya a pleasant, good-value stay. It's a comfortable budget option if you want a clean place, a handy location and warm hospitality without spending too much. I'd recommend it 😊
