Hotel Kings L Grand, Mysore

We ended up moving to another hotel on the very day we checked in. After we complained, they moved us to what they called their “cleanest” room, but that didn't fix anything. The website photos are misleading. The first room was dingy and badly maintained, with stained sheets and sofa, a torn pillow, dirt in every corner, and a terrible bathroom. At 1300 Rs a day, we still had to pay even though we didn't stay. A total waste of money. It's a 2 star hotel, so I expected at least basic cleanliness, whatever kind of guests it caters to.

The second time I stayed, I didn't feel like staying there at all. The rooms and hotel weren't clean, and the bedspreads smelled a little. Food had few choices that time, too. It's a little cheap, so it could work if you're after a budget stay. My first visit was okay.

I booked two rooms, and the room facing the balcony had no door locks. Monkeys were guests there too. The bathroom lights didn't work, and the lifts were confusing and unreliable. Breakfast is ordered from outside. The place needs improvement. My personal suggestion: don't stay here.

The balconies were very dusty, and staff only dealt with complaints after repeated reminders. There was no table in the room, so we had to eat on the bed. The room was too small for a family, and the complimentary breakfast had no variety, just idli, vada and dosa every day. I couldn't stay more than two days. For the price, it wasn't worth it. Fab group should take note.
