We paid ₹1800 for one night, and the stay wasn’t worth half of that. After we complained, staff were laughing outside our room. The replacement room they eventually gave us felt even less safe, with a glass door opening straight onto the road. We’d rushed out for sightseeing after checking in, so we only discovered the problems when we got back around 9:30 PM. The mattress creaked and was deeply uncomfortable, the AC and TV didn’t work, and there was no drinking water. Reception took 15 minutes to respond. Someone came, tried the AC once, then left. Half an hour later, still nothing. When we followed up, staff said they’d finish dinner and come, but nobody did. After we raised our voices, one person finally came and said nothing could be done. We were told to speak to the manager in the morning about a refund, though we were staying only one night. The staff were rude and arrogant throughout. This unsafe, unprofessional stay completely spoiled our trip. Avoid it.

The night receptionist was shockingly rude and unwilling to help. I wouldn’t expect support from him even in an emergency. His behavior made an already awful stay feel especially bad. We returned from sightseeing around 9:30 PM and found that the room had a noisy, uncomfortable mattress, a nonworking AC and TV, and no drinking water. We told reception, but nobody came for 15 minutes. When we went back, someone briefly pressed a button and walked away. Another 30 minutes passed without help. Staff then said they’d eat dinner and come later. After we complained, they mocked and laughed outside our room. They eventually moved us to a worse room, with a glass door facing directly onto the road. We paid ₹1800, which this poorly maintained and unsafe place wasn’t worth at all. Please avoid it.

The location made getting around easy. St. Philomena’s Church is right across the street, food stalls and restaurants are nearby, and the main tourist spots are within 2 km, so transport was quick and inexpensive. Staff were polite and prompt, bringing an extra mattress, sheets, and blankets right away. They also kept our luggage safely after checkout while we waited for our return journey. We stayed two days with my parents. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived around 11 AM, and we got it at about 12:30 PM. Since it was a long weekend, the delay didn’t bother us much. The AC was noisy and leaking at first, with heavier dripping at night, but the manager responded even at 1 AM and offered to move us or fix it. It was repaired properly the next day. The rooms and bathrooms are genuinely cramped. The bathroom has no exhaust fan, so it feels suffocating after a shower. I’d read negative reviews and was unsure about booking with my parents, but for an affordable stay in a prime location, this felt safe and decent value if you can manage the small space.

We were travelling with our car and weren’t given hotel parking on check-in day. Staff directed us to park opposite, where someone demanded payment. We politely explained that hotel security had sent us there. After we raised this with the hotel, they moved us to a cramped basement space. At about 7:30 the next morning, we went to reception because nobody was answering the phone. We were told we couldn’t take the car out before 9 AM. When we explained we wanted to go to the temple, staff began misbehaving and blamed us for parking, saying the car couldn’t leave before 10:30. Nobody had told us that. When we challenged them, they shouted and suddenly insisted we speak Kannada because we were standing on their land. I looked around for any notice saying hotel guests had to speak Kannada, but couldn’t find one. I respect all languages, cultures, beliefs, and traditions, but I can’t understand this behavior. Why accept bookings from people who don’t speak Kannada if staff are going to show such hatred, intolerance, and harassment toward fellow countrymen?
