The mattress was a real plus for me: comfortable and semi-firm, without that ultra-soft feeling that makes you sink. That may depend on personal preference, of course. I stayed here with my family and found the peaceful setting a welcome break from busy city life. You mostly hear birds chirping, something becoming rare in urban areas. The Dhauladhar peaks are clearly visible and the view is breathtaking. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and cleanliness is maintained daily. The food is delicious, there’s a decent choice, and everything is prepared fresh. Staff are professional and quick to help, while check-in and check-out were both quick. Five well-deserved stars from me.

The one downside was the 18% GST on food, along with the expensive rooms. Still, the location was wonderful and I had a wonderful stay. The staff were helpful and willing to accommodate guests’ little requests.

From the first moment to the last, staying at Hotel Saheb’s Castle was a nightmare. The room had bed bugs, a serious health and hygiene problem, and I’d warn others about the risk to their belongings too. Despite the cold climate, there was no hot water. The jacuzzi was broken and leaked across the floor, leaving a slip hazard. Breakfast wasn’t worth trying: the idlis were rock-hard, inedible and clearly not fresh. The reception was usually deserted, making it almost impossible to get help. When someone did turn up, they were very rude and treated guests like a nuisance. This place is a complete waste of money, with no apparent interest in basic hospitality or maintenance.

I’ve stayed here twice and haven’t been disappointed. Saheb Castle has a beautiful view, and the staff are easygoing and humble. Lemon tree is right beside it, but I’d say the view from Saheb Castle is unmatched. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

The view was good, but the room really wasn’t up to the mark. It was extremely small, and the broken door meant it filled with mosquitoes. The extra bed creaked like crazy. We asked for a good night, but weren’t given one. I was extremely disappointed that I booked this hotel and realized as soon as I walked in that it was a big mistake.
