The fort and palace felt magical, and everything was immaculate. Our room was lovely, though a bit gloomy, which I can imagine is useful in the summer. The pool area was gorgeous, but the water was too cold for us. We were the only two guests while we were there, which made the stay feel special, though all the staff attention also left us a little self-conscious. We’re not used to that level of attentiveness. The service was amazing and the food was excellent, and we felt lucky to have an experience that would be far beyond what we could afford in England. The included tours of the local bazaar and historic fort were fascinating and tailored to us. Abhishek Singh at the front desk was helpful and personable, and the museum curator was wonderful too, though I’m sorry I can’t remember his name.

The hotel is tucked inside a fort in the middle of Nagaur, and the place is so peaceful. Several rooms share a private courtyard that leads into the main courtyard, where the restaurant and pool are. Our room was beautifully decorated with designer block print fabric and very well maintained. The staff were incredibly attentive. Such a charming, distinctive place, and we loved staying here.

The food was excellent, and the staff were really friendly. The hotel sits in an ancient palace of queens, which makes the setting feel magical. One of the most beautiful hotels in the world. I’d love to come back.

We were glad we took the detour for lunch. The restored fort is astonishing and hardly visited, tucked above an alley in a busy regional town. I only wish we’d planned to stay the night while touring Rajasthan.

A little away from the popular spots, this place feels properly offbeat. It’s like staying in a small ancient city, with all the luxuries, and the aesthetics are lovely. Rajasthan is known for hospitality, and this place proves it again. The food and service were top notch, and our infant loved every bit of it. Highly recommended if you enjoy good food and quaint places.
