After just a few bites, we sent back the pesto spaghetti because it was salty, tasted strange, and was swimming in oil. We were told the sauce was apparently canned. We asked for the same dish to be replaced or for another dish, but they refused, and wouldn’t even remake it. With dishes priced at 400-500, that response was highly unexpected. We expected at least a refund or some kind of replacement. The owner wouldn’t speak with us about it, and left the bill with the server before walking away.

We brought my 70-year-old parents up those steep stairs because I thought the view would make lunch worthwhile. The server didn’t bring water even after we asked, and they didn’t have plain rice for my 1-year-old. At the start, he said it would take 40 minutes just to begin our order, although there were hardly 15 people there, including us. Around 8-10 foreigners were already leaving. It seemed clear he was focused only on serving foreign tourists, and I found that attitude an acute colonial slave mindset. When we confronted him, he immediately got defensive but offered not

The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Rooms were clean and inexpensive, and the location is convenient, right by Naggar Castle and close to an art gallery and the Roerich museum. The only downside was that the in-house restaurant was closed during our visit. It’s an amazing spot for a vacation.

There’s a lovely view from the room balcony and the Terrace Restaurant, even though there are quite a few buildings nearby. The rooms were very clean, the staff warm and hospitable, and it’s close to the Nagger Castle.
