I stay in motels because I have to, not for a holiday, and some of the places I use are ones most people wouldn't choose. That's why I don't write reviews to persuade anyone to stay there. I'm finding TA less useful because it doesn't give me the information I need. In Cave City, KY, several places had no reviews or weren't listed at all: Goodnight Inn, Masters Inn Cave City, Countryside Inn, Star Motel, Holiday Motel, Caveland Motel, and Travel Inn Motel. I ended up at the Days Inn because it was late and I didn't want to drive around in the dark checking them out. I did review the Days Inn, but TripAdvisor rejected it, saying reviews need to describe firsthand experiences with a property's facilities or services and that general discussion without enough relevant detail wouldn't be posted. This is what I wrote: The room and rate were OK, but there was no WiFi in room 125. I'd specifically asked whether the internet was good. I made the mistake of bringing all my things in before checking, and I was too tired to move rooms. If firsthand reviews get rejected because they aren't flowery, what's the point? I don't assume everyone is like me, but plenty of people out there are roadies. You're the one assuming everyone is like you.

The new receptionist argues with guests too much and is very bad. She focuses on taking money and misleading people. It was a poor experience, and I won't stay there again.

Just an OK place. The location isn't convenient, the rooms need to be free of dampness and bad smells, and the corridors feel cramped.

They gave me an OYO number to call. I booked a room, but then they said there wasn't one available. A terrible experience.

I really enjoyed the clean theatre, with its large screen, good sound, and comfortable seats. But on screen 2, there's an unlit step about 4-5 inches high just before the seating rows. People keep stumbling over it while the movie is on.
