Fiesta Hotel, 2 kms from Kathgodam Railway Station

The setting is a big part of the appeal, with mountains nearby and the hotel right on the main road. The ambiance is very good and the staff do what they can. It's a nice place to stay, though a little overpriced for what it is, even if the location partly explains that. I'd recommend taking an AC room rather than a non-AC one, and avoiding the ground floor.

The rooms and washroom were dirty, and the geyser wasn't working. The owner was totally unprofessional and misbehaved when we asked for extra services. Staff were rude and impolite, with bad behavior from both the owner and staff members. I wouldn't suggest staying here with your family, as it doesn't feel safe with people like this.

We stopped here before Nainital during a recent trip to Uttarakhand with friends. It was a budget trip, so a luxury five-star hotel wasn't in reach, but Fiesta hotel turned out to be amazing. The staff's attitude really pleased us. We'd heard the old saying that "Pahadi" people are good natured, and the team here made us believe it. The low rates shouldn't put you off. For what we paid, the location, rooms, food, and service were all very satisfying. The hotel's taxi service was much appreciated too. We'd stay here on our next trip and recommend it to everyone.
