Nala Hotels - Namakkal

We've come here every year during our visits to India, and it was good each time until this stay. After more than 10 years, we won't be back. The price and rooms were very poor, and they charged extra for additional people even though we were there for just four hours. The staff weren't welcoming and were quite mean. Inside the room, the lights weren't connected properly. Turning one off also cut power to the fan and charging outlets. The towels were stained, the sinks and bathtubs weren't properly cleaned, the room smelled of smoke, and there were bugs. It wasn't worth the price at all, and we're very unhappy with the stay. I absolutely don't recommend it.

The staff were good, but the hygiene was extremely disappointing. The floors were dirty, the bed linen stained, and the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was worse, with mold in the corners and a clogged drain. Dust and debris were all over the common areas too. It didn't seem like maintenance was a priority. For the price, I expected at least basic cleanliness, and this fell far short. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless they make major improvements.

There seems to be construction underway, and the work started as early as 6 am. Debris and cement marks covered the window. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing, I wouldn't eat there. Nala hotel has the feel of a colonial bungalow and sits on a large plot. The lobby reminded me of the old hotels that used to be grand, and the ambience is distinctive. The rooms were only all right, though. The air-con was worn down, and the bathroom taps, sink, and shower area were old and stained. It feels like the only option in Namakkal.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay during my official visit and would have stayed longer if we didn't need to get home. The hotel is convenient, well set up, and near Namakkal Anjaneyar Temple. There's a large, neatly maintained area for parking vehicles. The front desk staff were excellent with people, and everyone was courteous. They welcomed us with plain water or vetti ver water and sanitized the place often. Our spacious room was clean, well maintained, and had comfortable beds and all the facilities we needed, including a sanitizer bottle and newspaper. The restaurant has lots of choices, and its staff were good too. Breakfast had a good spread, including a crispy dosa fresh from the kitchen that I still remember. For lunch, they served a tasty unlimited full meal with poori, fruit salad, ice cream, and beeda. Great food, and thanks to the team for such a comfortable stay. We also visited the ground-floor restaurant, Manas, last week. We had South indian thali all three times, and it was amazing each time. The variety, taste, and service were all good, nothing to complain about. We had a wonderful lunch. Thank you to the whole team.
