The Source at Sula

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely resort, but several things were troubling. The pool service was poor, the food service was slow, and the jacuzzi water was dirty. Some rooms also need better upkeep. With a property this large, I expected the service and maintenance to be top notch.

The room and pool were excellent, and whenever we needed something cleaned, the team responded, even though cleaning and service could be a bit lax. We came to Sula in March for a short family and friends stay with kids. The restaurants and food were underwhelming for what we paid. It's not a bad option, but at that price I expected much more.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were polite and helpful throughout our couple of days there. There were evening entertainment shows, too. Dinesh deserves a special mention for helping us whenever we needed anything. They really know how to look after guests, and it was definitely worth staying.

The grounds are lovely, with water features, green gardens, a long walking trail, and cycles for riding around the vineyard. They also have an organic farm for vegetables and fruit. The fountain courtyard looks like a beautiful Italian arena, and the spa is amazing. I appreciated the sustainable touches, including solar panels and a lower carbon footprint. Every morning by 7.30, they brought two flasks of tea and coffee for early risers. This was my second stay at Sula, and the place itself is still awesome. This time, though, the restaurants disappointed me. There weren't many food choices, and service wasn't up to standard. The chef did Indian food well, but the continental dishes fell below Sula's standards: the fish was overcooked, the peas dry, the cheese garlic bread too dry and not buttery enough, and the pasta sticky and overcooked. The cheesecake was too sour with wine, and instead of New York cheesecake it was chocolate cheesecake. Service at the upper deck was only okay, with too few staff for a busy Saturday rush, and the tables were untidy. Rasa is confusing, with dhaba decor but continental food, which feels like a wasted opportunity. Special thanks to Ashwini at the restaurant and Tejas.
