Le Aafia Suites

We were seven people and took two rooms plus one hall, which was enough for the family. The kitchen was just okay, with very few utensils, though they may provide more if required. The washrooms were clean, TV and wifi were available, and both the AC and kitchen were just okay.

The room wasn’t ready when we arrived late because our bus was delayed, so we still had to wait half an hour to check in. Once inside, the walls were damaged, the washrooms weren’t tidy, and the rooms and corridors had cleanliness issues. Long power cuts interrupted our plans, the pool was small, and the staff weren’t well behaved. They charged 150 per can for drinking water and took a 150 deposit that they never returned. After three Goa trips in a single year, this was my worst experience. I expected better from the website advertisement. The place just isn’t maintained, so don’t be misled by the ads.

We booked a car through the hotel owner or reception, then got charged the full day amount for just a 3 hours extension. The behavior was extremely bad again. The owner or reception guy was one reason my experience with le aafia was horrible: they spoke rudely when I asked for early check-in, and treated me badly again when I checked out a little late. It really brought down the mood of the whole Goa trip. I’d been told not to visit, but wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt. It turned out to be the worst place, with the worst service and reception guy. Avoid it if you want a pleasant GOA trip, or you’ll regret it.

I was satisfied with the rooms and liked the really fast wifi. The air conditioning also worked well in the humidity, and the kitchen had basics like a fridge, electric induction and electric kettle. There’s a small swimming pool, and it was okay. Food outlets are nearby, and the hotel can arrange beach activities such as scuba diving, para celling and boating for extra charges. Panaji is 14km away. The building surroundings were a little unhygienic, with green water coming out of a sauvage to the left of the gate. My stay was really good overall, but the lift only runs once when you enter the property to take your luggage upstairs. My room was on the 3rd floor, so climbing up was tiring. I’d be happy to visit again.
